The Perfect Love of God"❤

📖 Colossians 3: 12-15

"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."

There is a lot in those verses. But it says there, "But ABOVE all these things, put on CHARITY", describing it as the "bond of perfectness". So, as it is of great importance, above all else...

What is Charity?

Is it giving to the poor?

Is it a fundraising organization?

Is it love?

Or is it so much more?

If Charity is "above all", then we can conclude that it relates to the 1st commandments- being:

📖 Matthew 22: 36-40

"Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

Charity is the Pure and Perfect love of God- It is Christ-like Love.

And... the Lord our God, praise His Holy name, left us with this definition- in His Word.

📖1 Corinthians 13 says Charity is,

❤Patient and Long-suffering

❤Kind

❤Is not Envious

❤Does not Flaunt itself or Boast

❤Is not Proud or Puffed Up

❤Is Humble

❤Does not Shame or Dishonour

     others

❤Does not Behave Unseemly

❤Is not Selfish or Self-Seeking

❤Is not Easily Provoked/Angered

❤Is Easy to be Entreated

❤Keeps No record of Wrongs

❤Thinks no Evil

❤Does Not Rejoice in Evil

❤Rejoices in Truth

❤Bears all things/Picking up our  

     Cross/ Bearing one another's

burdens

❤Believes all things/Trusting in 

     God alone

❤Hopes all things/Hopeful in

     Christ

❤Endures all things/ 

     Perseverence

❤Charity/The Love of God- Never

     Fails!

Wow! This is actually Very Profound to consider... It speaks of great Humility, Selflessness, Having Sober minds & eyes- Single to God's Glory.  And... that no matter what we do, give, learn, prophesy, speak- even if we die as a martyr- We are nothing without Charity!

It speaks of Spiritual maturity in how we conduct ourselves. And abiding in our Lord Jesus Christ. Waiting upon Him in all things. And sharing this - His Love- with others.

Never contending, but ever extending Grace!  Extending Kindness and Patience, understanding that we all need Love, and merciful Compassion. We need Forgiveness and must Forbear. It speaks of, well... God - in us!

It is not a checklist,  but rather a way of being... A way of living... His way!  Loving BIG!

📖Luke 7: 47

"Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little."

God's love goes above and beyond anyone's current state or circumstance... It transcends above it all, in order to bring positive, beautiful change in us, and through us to others... It elevates us, and gives us more understanding, peace, and life.

And He desires us to accept and receive His love, and for us to share it. Not only when others love us, or are easy to love- But also when they don't love us, and it is difficult to feel or extend that love..

📖Matthew 5: 44-48

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

Because, His Love is Perfect. And, it's so different than worldly/carnal love... and He knows that it can reach into every heart... despite our thoughts. His thoughts and His ways are so much higher than ours... as is His Love- beyond our comprehension.

📖John 15: 13

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

📖Galatians 5: 14 & 18

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

"But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law."

📖John 3: 16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

In summary, We NEED the Spirit and Love of God in us- to have Charity, to LIVE Charity, To love great, AS HE HAS LOVED US.

For without this we are nothing.

If we are filled with His Spirit and love, and led by Him- Then we are filled with that great love for our God and for others... Walking in that,  The whole law is fulfilled.

That Royal law of our most beautiful and holy Great King!

❤He IS the God of Love❤

And we are called to have His image in our countenance - Thereby being of a pure and humble heart, FULL of Charity.

🙏Father, Thank You for Your great Love, for Your heart and Spirit with us to teach us these things.  Lord, please grow and perfect Your Love in us. Show us, God, how to love others well.. To show Who You are in us and through us. Father, I ask for Your Kind, Forgiving and Forbearing heart to fill us, that Your Spirit in us will manifest this holiday season and always. Thank You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit for Loving us! Thank You, Jesus!  I praise Your holy name, Lord, and pray for Charity to multiply in the Body of Christ, In Jesus' Perfect and Great name, Amen.🙏
