🍞" The God of Provision-
Manna and our Daily Bread"🍞
📖Matthew 6: 31-33
"Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
So, we know that God knows what we need, before we even ask... Yett, we are also taught, by Jesus, to ask-
📖Matthew 6: 11
"Give us this day our daily bread."
Because we are to ask, and trust in the Lord for all our needs, and for all things- that are righteous, in humility and thankfulness.
And we CAN trust our God, He is faithful, and a good Father!
📖Psalms 132: 15
"I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread."
📖Philippians 4:19
"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
We should not be greedy, but humble, grateful, and prudently content- with that which the Lord provides...
📖Hebrews 13:5
"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
📖Psalm 23:1
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
📖Matthew 6:26
"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"
In 1 Kings 17, we see an example of Elijah's story, and seeking FIRST the kingdom of God (and the rest being added)-
1st of all- Elijah was a God fearing, God honoring servant of the Lord, and he was obedient... In his obedience, surrender and trust- God provided in multiple ways-
* The ravens fed him
* The widow woman fed him
☝BUT, let's look at that widow woman:
❤She was down to her last meal.
❤Her young son was very sick...
But she CHOSE to be obedient, seeking first the things of God, to feed Elijah, and trust God to provide...
And she received the blessing- not only for a perpetual regeneration of flour and oil, But also- The Lord healed her son!🙌
🙌❤Powerful!❤🙌
📖Psalms 55: 22
"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Even the grumbling, and often disobedient, Israelites, were well provided for.
📖Deuteronomy 8:3
"And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live."
📖Nehemiah 9: 21
"Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not."
Our Lord is GOOD, and promises us to be our help.
📖Psalms 121
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth."
📖Psalms 55:22
"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
However, we need to also realize, that God Himself, is our Provision. HE is our Portion. 😊
📖Matthew 4:4
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
📖Psalms 73:26
"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever."
